Our Sinchi Wayra eco-lodge is family-run with heart and deep passion

Bienvenidos todos a SINCHI WAYRA – desde 2023!
Welcome to SINCHI WAYRA – since 2023!

Sinchi Wayra is Kichwa and means strong wind. With the force of a strong wind, our family as part of the Sani community, consisting of more than 750 indigenous people, has made a rare decision. We are choosing to protect our home in the Amazon rainforest and founded the Sinchi Wayra lodge in early 2023, after 6 years of building.

We invite you as our guests to be part of this cross-generational family project and bring you closer to the beauty and wonders of the Yasuní national park with a lot of passion, heart and soul. No matter if you are a family with young children, a solo adventurer or an elderly couple, we will spoil you with excellent traditional food, unforgettable wildlife adventures and stunning views of the river and rainforest.

We, the indigenous Gualinga family, operate the lodge with Edwin (grey shirt) as a general manager. We are part of the Sani community, that populates the region since centuries and are deeply connected to the flora and fauna to provide our guests an authentic Amazon experience.
We built the lodge from natural materials and according to traditional craftsmanship. It is located right at the shore of Napo river surrounded by the Amazon rainforest.
From the riverbank of Sinchi Wayra you will embark on most of your daily journeys by canoe. We have planted many medicinal and traditional food plants in our surrounding gardens. Feel free to pick a snack off from a nearby banana tree!
We have five double and triple bed private rooms available, each with their own bathroom and view of the garden.
Each room has a private and clean bathroom with its own shower. We do not have hot water, but with the warm temperature and high humidity of the rainforest, most guests find this refreshing.
Enjoy delicious three-course meals from our professional chef, that feature of both traditional foods and diverse flavors. He is happy to accommodate vegetarian, gluten free, and other diets, as well as allergy restrictions. You will be delighted by traditional soups, salads, and entrees.
Just outside the lodge, your jungle adventure awaits with varied hike trails, stunning lagoons and plenty of wildlife. Join our professional guides to explore exotic birds, monkeys, snakes, pink river dolphins and caymans.
